A source at Rikers Island confirmed reports that Lil Wayne was busted Monday for having headphones, a charger and a watch that doubles as an MP3 player in his jail cell.
The offense isn’t extremely serious, but it could mean more prison time for Wayne. “You just get an infraction, a violation,” the source told MTV News. “You lose some ‘good time.’
“It depends on the severity of the infraction,” the source added about what other type of trouble Weezy could get into. “Level one is the worst. Then you have [level] two or three. [This infraction] could be a level one. He has to go on trial, and based on evidence, they’ll make their determination.”
Our source also confirmed that Wayne has a job as a suicide-prevention aid, which entails staying up at night to keep an eye on at-risk inmates.
“He checks each cell or area to see if each guy is alive. There are three shifts,” our source said. “I think his shift is at night, like 11 [p.m.] to 7 [a.m.] or 12 to 8.”
That job is now in jeopardy due to the infraction.
In 2007, Lil Wayne was arrested for attempted gun possession following his first headlining performance in Manhattan at the Beacon Theatre. New York is among the toughest states in the country when it comes to gun-possession laws. In other states, Lil Wayne could have gotten off with a misdemeanor rap and probation. However, in New York, only law-enforcement officials and those affiliated with authorities are permitted to carry firearms. The rapper was sentenced to a year in prison in March.

Robert Pattinson, the rapper?
That almost became a reality according to the star. The man who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the hugely successful ‘Twilight’ films told Oprah Winfrey he dreamed of becoming a rapper as a teen.
“I grew up watching American movies and stuff. Also, I used to want to be a rapper when I was like 14,” he told her.
To which Oprah replied, “No you didn’t!” Her amazement isn’t a big surprise since it is well known she isn’t a fan of the art form.
But for Robert, hip hop has been a huge help for him in developing an American accent for movies even if his co-star and rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart doesn’t think so.
“Kristen thinks I do the most terrible American accent’” he joked.

GUITAR hero Slash revealed having the hots for singer Fergie led to him taking one of the biggest gambles of his controversial rock career.
The ex-Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver idol recruited the stunning Black Eyed Peas star to perform lead vocals on Beautiful Dangerous, a track on his first solo album.
His collaboration with sexy Fergie raised eyebrows among diehard rockers but Slash is unrepentant and claims she’s one of the best vocalists he’s ever worked with.
In 2009, Fergie and Slash performed together on a live version of Guns N’ Roses classic hit Sweet Child O’ Mine at the Rosebowl in the US when Black Eyed Peas opened for U2. He was so knocked out by her amazing voice he insisted she appear on his self-titled album.
He said: “I’ve played w ith Black Eyed Peas a number of times over the years and knew she’d be able to do it.
“I’m sure there were some people surprised Fergie was on my album but that’s ridiculous.
“I got hip to Fergie being probably as good – or better – a rock singer than she is a pop singer.
“She’s one of the most phenomenal rock ‘n’roll singers – male or female – I’ve ever heard.
“She’s got an amazing voice – and she’s hot. Who wouldn’t want to work with someone as hot as she is?”
Now Slash is preparing to hit the road for a UK tour.
We can exclusively reveal he’ll play Edinburgh HMV Picture House on July 1 and tickets – which cost £25 – go on sale on Wednesday.
Guest vocalist will be ex-Alter Bridge star Myles Kennedy, once tipped to replace Robert Plant in Led Zeppelin.
The new album features a string of big name singers including Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Kid Rock and Ian Astbury of The Cult.
Plus there are surprise appearances from former Guns N’ Roses mates Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan, and Foo Fighter Dave Grohl.
Slash said: “I wasn’t trying to br idge any generation gap or try to be eclectic.
“I wrote the music first then farmed it to singers who I thought might like it or be appropriate for it.
“While that may be offthe beaten Sla sh pat h I knew it would sound great.
“This was a music statement from me but the singers could do what they wanted and have as much input as they liked.
They had a free rein on the lyrics and melod ies.” Slash revealed his brilliant collaboration with Iggy Pop on We’re All Gonna Die set the standard for the project.
He said: “When I sent Iggy the song he called up a couple of days later and left a message of him singing the words while my demo was playing on his stereo in the background.
“It was so rock ‘n’roll. Igg y set the tone for the record.”
